RIED KLOSTERSATZ

Altitude 199-204 metres

Hours of sunshine 2488 h
Soil fine sand, gravel, pebbles

The Ried Klostersatz vineyard stretches out over Loiben and Dürnstein. One of the oldest sites in the Wachau, it was planted by monks from Salzburg and Bavarian monasteries, or “Klöster” in German, giving it its name. The subsoil reflects the primary rock of the terraces that has been washed away and is blanketed by brown earth and Danube gravel.

Up for something new?

The Gattinger family looks forward to welcoming guests to the winery. The wine range can either be tasted in the new tasting room - with a stunning view of the Ried Loibenberg. Or would you like to taste the wines in the middle of the action and get a better overview of the different vineyards? This is possible on the Loibenberg experience platform. You would prefer a new perspective on the Wachau? Not a problem - the wooden boat takes you along the Danube past the region's top single vineyards.
